CUBETTES COMPETE IN LAST POWERLIFTING MEET BEFORE REGIONALS

The Brenham Cubettes competed in the final Brazos Valley Powerlifting League Meet this past Monday at Brenham High School.

In the 132 lbs. division, Washington County took the top three spots. Kaleigh Daniels of Brenham won first place with a combined lift of 660 pounds, and Keanna Lor, also of Brenham, finished second with a combined lift of 620 pounds.

Avery Applewhite, who is from Burton but lifted with the Brenham girls, finished third with a combined lift of 615 pounds.

In the 148 lbs. division, Marlie Dixon was fourth overall with a 640 pound combined lift. Camila Rodriguez was fifth with a 585 pound combined lift.

Madi Merkley finished fourth in the 198 lbs. division with a combined lift of 585 pounds.

Next up is the Regional Meet being held on March 1 at Del Valle High School. Brenham Head Powerlifting Coach Ryan Jones said that they should know by this weekend, who qualifies.
