HEMPSTEAD ISD TO GIVE UPDATE ON BOND PROJECT PROGRESS

The public is invited to attend a community update on the progress of the Hempstead ISD Bond 2024 Project this Tuesday night.

The meeting will be held in the Hempstead ISD Board Room at 1440 13th Street.

According to the school district’s website, this is the first in a series of meetings to keep the public informed on the progress, timelines, and milestones of the project.

Superintendent Herbert O’Neil and members of the bond team will be on hand to answer questions.

The Hempstead ISD Bond Election was overwhelmingly approved back in May 2024. Proposition A, which was approved 917-349, has a price tag of $42 million. Included in the proposition is a replacement campus for the Early Childhood Education Center, cafeteria and band hall additions at the High School, an auxiliary gym addition, roof replacement at the Middle School, and other campus and security improvements.

Proposition B, which was approved 854-400, has a price tag of over $3 million. It includes a new synthetic turf field and track at Bobcat Stadium.
