BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO RECEIVE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE, RECOGNIZE STUDENT GROUPS
The Burton School Board will hold a pair of meetings on Monday.
First will be a special bond construction meeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the board’s regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Both will be held in the Burton ISD Cafeteria.
The bond construction meeting will provide updates on the district’s ongoing construction projects, including financial considerations and next steps.
Once in regular session, trustees will invite several student groups to be recognized, including members of the basketball team, participants in the spelling bee, the Burton Beta Club, band members who competed in UIL, high school cheer, and academic UIL participants.
Among the board’s action items will be an order to cancel the district’s trustee election on May 3rd, due to there being no contested races. The board will also consider teacher, staff and administrator contracts.
An executive session will be held for private consultation with legal counsel to discuss the district’s lawsuit against DSA, Inc., Circle H Dirt Work and Excavation, and Round Top HVAC in 21st District Court. Any possible action will occur in open session.
