UNITY THEATRE TAKING SIGN-UPS FOR SUMMER DRAMA CAMPS
Unity Theatre invites students who are interested in diving into the world of acting and live performance to its Summer Drama Camps.
Registration is open for students in grades 2-12, who will be able to learn from Unity’s team of teaching artists and performers.
Creative Dramatics for grades 2-3 will take place from July 7-11. Young actors will engage in imagination-based activities, movement exercises and theatre games. The camp will conclude with a showcase performance on July 12, where family and friends can see their progress on stage.
Playbuilding for grades 4-6 will run from July 7-11. Students will collaborate to create an original piece of theatre while developing skills in character development, storytelling and improvisation. At the end of the week, they will present their original work in a showcase performance on July 12th.
Acting in Performance, Jr. for grades 4-6 will be a two-week camp held from July 14-27. During the first week, campers will refine their acting techniques and expand their creativity. In the second week, they will take on supporting roles in Unity’s summer musical, “Snow White Goes West”. Each student will perform in four of the eight scheduled shows throughout the production.
Acting in Performance: Showcase for grades 7-12 will be an intensive two-week camp from July 7-18. Participants will experience the full production process as they audition, rehearse and perform in a full-scale black box production of “Alice in Wonderland” on Unity’s Main Stage on July 18th and 19th.
Registration for Creative Dramatics and Playbuilding is $180 per student. The fee for Acting in Performance, Jr. is $275 per student, while the cost for Acting in Performance: Showcase is $375 per student. Space is limited, and scholarships are available.
