MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED IN AUSTIN CO.
An Austin County woman has been arrested on a murder charge.

According to a release shared by the Austin County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, 55-year-old Laura Elie, also known as Laura Bursell, was located and arrested on Wednesday, March 19th on an active warrant for murder.
The arrest came after the Austin County Regional Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a property in the 16500 block of Sycamore Road in Cat Spring. The Austin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, Texas Rangers and DPS Dive Team assisted in the investigation.
Elie was booked into the Austin County Jail without incident and is currently being held without bond.
The sheriff’s office and Austin County District Attorney’s Office told KWHI that no additional information will be provided at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation.
