Today’s preview is for Brenham School Board – Position 7, where incumbent Jared Krenek is challenged by Walt Edmunds.

Jared Krenek was first elected to the board in 2021 and currently serves as its vice president.  He works as an automation foreman at Magnolia Oil and Gas.

Krenek said he has worked hard to serve as a representative for Brenham ISD and wishes to continue doing so, assisting community members with insight into how the school district operates and making decisions for the district on the public’s behalf.

Walt Edmunds is the owner of Plumb Level Plumbing & Drains, formerly Brenham Plumbing.

Speaking during KWHI’s Candidates Forum on April 7th, Edmunds said some of his main points of emphasis are improving academic quality, teacher retention, financial stability and disciplinary policy.  He said Brenham ISD should take a close look at other districts that have accomplished those goals.

KWHI’s full individual interview with Krenek can be heard below.

Editor's Note: Edmunds could not be reached for an interview, but his comments will be added to this article if he later becomes available.

  1. Jared Krenek is a sound and responsive board member. He is a dedicated leader and not a puppet to any outside group. Jared is truly interested in improving our local school district, as well as the educational opportunities of all students. I encourage voters to asses all of the candidates carefully and vote for those who will not divide our community or the organization they serve.
