THREE SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT
Three people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st District Court before Judge Carson Campbell.
44-year-old Steven Lee Cloud of Bellville, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 4 years in prison for Assault Intentionally or Recklessly Impeding Breath or Circulation to a Family Member with Previous Conviction, a second degree felony.
18-year-old Larissa Zalynn Ramirez of Hempstead, sentenced to 8 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony. Ramirez was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, perform 150 hours of community service, complete a drug offender education program and maintain no contact with the victim in the case. Additionally, Ramirez was sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Firearm Access to a Child, a state jail felony.
42-year-old Michael Darrin Harvey of Bryan, sentenced to 85 days in the Washington County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony.
Probation for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and for Firearm Access to a Child, a state jail felony. But jail time for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, ? That seems a bit Out of Balance to me. But maybe I am missing something.
