BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER FBO RATES, CHARGES AT AIRPORT
The Brenham City Council will meet Thursday to potentially adopt city-managed fixed base operator (FBO) rates and charges at the Brenham Municipal Airport.
Federally-obligated airports are required to maintain a fee and rental structure for the facilities and services at the airport, in order to keep their operations as self-sufficient as possible.
The council reviewed the proposed FBO rates during a work session on June 12th. Interim Airport Manager Jim Halley said at the meeting that city staff researched the rates and charges for other similar-sized airports in the region. He also said the proposed rates will rarely affect regular tenants at the airport and are more so for transient users.
The only other regular session agenda item up for consideration will be to award a bank depository services contract. State law and the city charter dictate that the city must select a depository bank every five years; the city’s current contract ends on August 31st.
The council will meet Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
