MOBILE HOME IN OLD WASHINGTON DESTROYED IN FIRE
Multiple first responder agencies from Washington County and surrounding counties worked the scene of a fire that destroyed a mobile home Monday afternoon.
Units were first called out to the fire in the 3300 block of Harry Franklin Lane in Old Washington around 3:30 p.m. They made location to find a trailer house fully involved and another about half involved.
Responding departments included fire departments from Washington, Meyersville, Chappell Hill, Brenham, Salem, Rocky Creek, Navasota, South Brazos County and White Hall. Additional agencies on location were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Washington County EMS and CERT Team, and Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative.
Firefighters extinguished both houses, knocking down the main fire in about an hour and spending another two hours on overhaul and mop-up. The scene was cleared around 7 p.m.
Fire officials say the residents were home, but were in another house on the property.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
