WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET ON TUESDAY
The Washington County Commissioners Court will be meeting in special session on Tuesday.
Among the items on the agenda is the approval of the job description for the Fire Services Director.
The proposed job summary reads that the position “is responsible for the strategic direction, development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive programs relating to fire safety, emergency preparedness, and non-law enforcement public safety.”
Additionally, the director “ensures compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards” and “serves as the primary liaison with fire departments, emergency responders, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, Commissioners, and the media.”
The listed pay range for the position is $79,843 - $119,764, dependent on qualifications.
Also at the meeting, the Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed Washington County Clerk’s Records Archive Plan for the Fiscal Year 2026 for the preservation and restoration of archived records.
Other agenda items include a resolution accepting Robert Jensen’s voluntary dedication and grant of private property for public safety use, the approval of a mass gathering permit and a right of way permit for the Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival, and the purchase of Intec Apex Court Solutions software for use by the Justice of the Peace courts.
The Washington County Commissioners Court meets on Tuesday at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.
