BRENHAM ISD GIFTED & TALENTED PROGRAM NOMINATIONS OPEN MONDAY

Brenham ISD’s nomination process opens on Monday for the Gifted and Talented (GT) education program.

Each year, Brenham ISD conducts a screening process to identify gifted and talented students, using multiple measures to identify those with exceptional abilities and learning needs.

Beginning on Monday, parents can acquire a request for screening form and parent checklist from their child’s campus counselor or the Brenham ISD Central Office, 711 East Mansfield Street.  Resources will also be available at https://brenhamisd.net

All forms must be returned to the district by Friday, December 12th.

Campus screenings will begin the week of January 12, 2026.  Campus counselors and district personnel will review data the week of January 26, 2026 to determine eligibility for full GT testing, which will then be administered to eligible students the week of February 2, 2026.

Results will be mailed out by March 6, 2026.  Families whose child qualifies for GT services will receive a parent permission to serve form along with their notification.  Identified students will begin GT services on the first day of the 2026-27 school year.

Anyone with questions can contact their campus counselor or Special Services Coordinator Mindy Youngs at 979-277-3895 (ext. 2166) or myoungs@brenhamk-12.net
