For the past three consecutive years, students from Burton Elementary School have been elected to serve as Texas Beta Elementary President.

It started with Everleigh Matthies serving as President from 2024–2025, followed by Charli Majewski, who served from 2025–2026, and now Remi Draehn was just elected to serve for 2026–2027.

Each year, students campaign, give speeches, and work together with their classmates to perform a skit promoting their candidate.

Their hard work, courage, and teamwork have helped Burton Elementary stand out among schools with much larger student populations.

Credit was also given to sponsor, Diane Wied, and the strong support from their classmates and community.

By taking part in the Texas Beta Elementary Program, students learn confidence, leadership, and public speaking skills at a young age, which will help them in the future.
