DAYTIME HIGHWAY 290 LANE CLOSURES BEGINNING NEXT WEEK FOR BRIDGE DESIGN WORK
TxDOT is advising travelers of temporary lane closures on Highway 290 in Brenham starting next week, as crews perform geotechnical work needed for future bridge improvements.
From Monday, May 11th through Friday, May 22nd, crews will be working on the west side of town near the Old Mill Creek bridge and the Business 290 bridge.
Drivers can expect daytime closures on Highway 290 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
TxDOT says the work is necessary to support the design of its cloverleaf interchange project, which is expected to be awarded in summer 2028.
Drivers should plan for potential delays during work hours and consider adjusting travel times if possible. They are encouraged to stay alert, follow traffic signs, and watch for workers and equipment in the area.
