BURLESON CO. AGENCIES BATTLE STRUCTURE FIRE, GRASS FIRE

  

Burleson County fire departments worked on Monday to contain a large fire that broke out near Lake Somerville. 

Firefighters responded around 4 p.m. to the Somerville Place subdivision on Park Road 4, where multiple structures were reported to be engulfed.  The flames spread to nearby grass and a pasture.

Agencies that assisted at the fire were the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department, Deanville Volunteer Fire Department, Birch Creek Area Volunteer Fire Department, Caldwell Fire and Rescue Department, Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, St. Joseph Health EMS, Burleson County CERT, Burleson County Environmentalist, Burleson County Office of Emergency Management and Burleson County Precinct 4 Constable.

Roads in the immediate area were closed as first responders worked the scene.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the extent of the damage is still being determined.
