BRENHAM ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION, VIRIDIEN PRESENT DONATIONS TO SUPPORT EDUCATORS, PROGRAMS

  

The Brenham School Board on Monday accepted donations in support of Brenham ISD educators and programs.

Trustees acknowledged a $185,000 donation from the Brenham ISD Education Foundation for educator mini-grants.  The contribution will go toward the grant requests submitted by educators and staff to benefit their classrooms, departments and campuses.

Brenham ISD Education Foundation Board President Anthony Jasinski said the grant program has “grown leaps and bounds” since the foundation was established in 2004, with cumulative donations above $1.3 million.  He said the growth would not be possible without the public’s support.

Jasinski invited community members to the Education Foundation’s Mini-Grant Days of Action on October 7^th and 8^th, where foundation representatives will go around campuses and hand out grants.  He also gave a reminder about the start of the Brazos Valley Gives fundraiser coming up on October 20^th, providing another avenue to support the foundation. 

Also recognized on Monday was Viridien, the company leading the high-performance computing center project on Longwood Drive, who presented a $3,000 check to the Education Foundation for STEAM program funding.
