BRENHAM FD RESPONDS THURSDAY FOR ACCIDENTS, CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to seven calls on Thursday and one early this (Friday) morning.

Approaching 8:15 a.m. Thursday, units went out to a crash in the 300 block of West Valverde Street.  They checked for fluids leaking and found none, so they returned to service.

A possible water rescue was called in just shy of 10:30 a.m. at Yegua Creek Park.  However, the fire department was cancelled enroute to the rescue.

A few minutes past 4:15 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a crash in the 1800 block of East Tom Green Street.  They provided traffic control for the scene and assisted EMS with patient transport.

Nearing 4:30 p.m., BFD members went out to a community relations call at Washington County Engineering and Development Services, 3650 Highway 36 North.  The department found a portable battery charger overheated and assisted with cooling the charger down.

An accident was reported close to 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of FM 109.  However, no vehicle was found on location.

Two carbon monoxide alarms were called in on Thursday, one around 6:45 p.m. at a home in the 1000 block of Davy Street, and the other shortly after 11:15 p.m. at The Hill Top at Brenham, 3170 North Park Street.  For both calls, the fire department determined the alarm malfunctioned.

Just after midnight today, personnel responded to a fire alarm at the Brenham Oaks Apartments, 2475 South Chappell Hill Street.  They found bad batteries in the smoke detectors and changed the batteries.
