CITIZENS STATE BANK TO HOST HISTORICAL MARKER DEDICATION IN SOMERVILLE
Citizens State Bank will host a historical marker dedication ceremony to honor the history of the bank’s Somerville location.
The ceremony will be held on Friday, October 23rd beginning at 10 a.m. at the bank, 155 8th Street in Somerville.
Founded in Somerville in 1925, Citizens State Bank celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025.
The dedication will recognize the bank’s longstanding presence in Somerville, as well as generations of employees, customers and community members. The ceremony will include a presentation of the marker, the posting of colors, the National Anthem and Texas state song, and remarks from local officials.
Citizens State Bank President and CEO Aaron Flencher said the marker represents more than the history of a building or a bank, as it also represents generations of people who have helped shaped the bank into what it is today. He said, “We’re proud of where we came from, and we’re grateful to celebrate this piece of history with our community.”
Community members, customers, local leaders and friends of the bank are invited to attend.
