BRENHAM FD RESPONDS FOR ACCIDENT, STUDENTS LOCKED IN ELEVATOR

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Sunday.

Approaching 10:30 a.m., units were dispatched to 807 West Second Street for a report of students locked inside an elevator.  They arrived to find Blinn College police had the students out already.  After checking on the students, the fire department cleared the call.

Just after 7 p.m., a transportation incident was reported from the 100 block of Highway 290 West.  There, firefighters found a two-vehicle accident with minor damage.  Personnel helped with patient care and returned to service after both vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Close to 8:15 p.m., the fire department went out to a home in the 200 block of South Dixie Street for a report of a gas smell inside.  Firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department found nothing showing from the exterior of the home and no readings on the gas detector.  The Gas Department stayed on location to run more tests.
