HEMPSTEAD MOTHER AND CHILD KILLED IN SUNDAY MORNING CAR CRASH

  

A two-year old and her mother were killed early Sunday morning after an accident in Grimes County.

Thirty-one year old Heidi Gage, of Hempstead, along with her two-year-old child Elin Cross, were killed after the car they were driving collided with an 18 wheeler on Highway 6 near Navasota around 1:45 am Sunday morning, according to DPS.

Gages’ car was eastbound on FM 1228, when she failed to stop at the Highway 6 intersection, and ran under the 18 wheeler, which was southbound, and caught fire.

The driver of the 18 wheeler suffered no major injuries.
