COMMISSIONERS APPROVE NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE FOR SHERIFF’S OFFICE

  

The Washington County Commissioners gave their approval to the Sheriff’s Office to purchase four 2016 Chevrolet Tahoes and one 2016 Ford Expedition during their regular Tuesday morning meeting.

The emergency vehicle equipment such as radar, radios and tablets from the current vehicles will be transferred to the new vehicles as part of the purchase price.

The vehicles are being purchased from Caldwell Country, a state contract vendor, using funds from the 2016 Budget. The vehicles need to be ordered now to be delivered in January.

Also approved were the formal notices for Buried Utility Lines, one on N Briarwood in Precinct 3 by PGMS Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation, and the other on Raymond Lehmann Lane in Precinct 4 by Industry Telephone Company for a buried communications cable.

The commissioners also approved a Resolution for the abandonment and conveyance of 0.476 acre of a county road right-of-way on Bluehaven Hill Road in Precinct 2, located in the  Bluebonnet Hills subdivision.

The Washington County Engineer received approval from the Commissioners to obtain their annual bids for items such as tree removal, culverts, drive bridge pilings, fuels for different County departments, as well as road construction materials and steel products.

Also approved was a Proclamation declaring Saturday, November 7, 2015 as “Relay for Life Day” in Washington County.

  1. Regarding the recent vehicle purchase. So With The Big push to buy locally because it supports the local economy.
    Why is the city purchasing outside the city???? This is just another case of hypocrisy.
