BLINN THEATRE WILL BRING AUDIENCES “BACK TO THE 80’S”
Blinn College is bringing audiences back to the 1980s with an upcoming musical performance.
Written by Neil Gooding and Stuart Smith with revised orchestrations by Brett Foster and Scott Copeman, “Back to the 80’s” will be a flashback from an era that brought us the Rubik’s Cube, Star Wars, MTV and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The show will be a nostalgic romp through the greatest hits of the decade.
“This was a musical that a former student suggested,” said Bradley Nies, theatre director. “Schools that have produced this show have had great audience response.”
This performance will be the Blinn-Brenham campus Theatre Arts Program’s entry to the 2015 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). The KCACTF is a national organization that exists to celebrate the educational and creative process of university and college theatre. The organization honors achievements in diversity and excellence and encourages experiences in all areas of theatre.
Blinn will host 7 p.m. performances Nov. 19-21 with a 2 p.m. show Sunday, Nov. 22. All shows are at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center (map).
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance online at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice, by calling 979-830-4024 or by emailing boxoffice@blinn.edu. Blinn students, faculty and staff can receive two free tickets.
