HODDE CENTER TO OFFER COURSES IN FEBRUARY

  

A number of diverse workforce and career courses are being offered in February by Blinn College’s A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center.

Beginning Monday, Blinn will offer Basic Safety and Health, a 10-hour industrial safety course. The $90 course runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 1st and 2nd.

A Medication Aide Refresher course takes place Saturday, Feb. 6th.  Students who successfully complete the course receive an updated certified medication aide permit from the state. This one-day, $50 course takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

An eight-hour Safeland PEC oilfield safety training class is Monday, Feb. 8th.  It is an eight-hour safety orientation for the oil and gas industry. This $150 course prepares students to operate safely at both onshore and offshore facilities.

Two welding classes begin on Feb. 10th.  Fundamentals of Gas Tungston Arc Welding is a 60-hour class that runs from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Fundamentals of Gas Metal Arc Welding also will be a 60-hour class that runs from 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Both classes are $500.

A one-day Forklift Operator Certification course begins Feb. 15 and runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $105.

A 112-hour Basic Machine course begins Feb. 26 and will be held every Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost of the class is $380.
