EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TO SEND OUT DAMAGE ASSESSMENT TEAMS

Washington County Office of Emergency Management will be sending out damage assessment teams beginning today (Monday). These teams will be out in the county and will be doing brief assessments of damage to homes. They will have identification with them and if you have any question of who they are, you can call the non-emergency number for the Washington County Dispatch Center who will have a list of names for the teams. The non-emergency number is 979-337-7272.

If you have damage to your home and would like to register with FEMA, you can either call 1-800-621-3362 or go on-line at www.DisasterAssistance.gov. Since we have not gotten a Federal Declaration at the time this was written, you will have to choose DR-4269. It will then ask you for the date of your loss which will most likely be 5-26 or 5-27. After that you can enter all your information. Once a Federal Declaration has been issued, your information will be move to the new DR. If you need help with FEMA registration, Faith Mission Storm Center Cannery Kitchen will be able to help you starting at 8am on Monday.

If you are starting to clean up or repair your home, please take pictures of the damage before you start. This may be helpful in the event that you are able to file for insurance or Federal assistance.
