NAVASOTA H.S. STUDENT ARRESTED FOR MAKING THREAT

A Navasota High School student has been charged with making a false alarm.

The 15-year old male student was arrested Thursday afternoon after making what police are calling an “alarming comment”.

Authorities have not released the nature of the comment, but police chief Justin Leeth says it was not a bomb threat.

Leeth says Navasota ISD staff contacted the department about the comment, which led to charges being filed against the 15-year old.

Interim Superintendent Ray Matthews says parents were notified about the threat.

Matthews says no classes were interrupted and the threat was “isolated”.
