BRENHAM WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
At 2:05 on Thursday, K9 Officer Hunter Andras made a traffic stop close to the intersection of W. Blue Bell Road and Burleson St.
Upon investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and was taken in to custody.
33-year old Leigh Anne Cavner of Brenham was arrested on the charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

It always amazes me how many drug busts are made in this town every week.
It shouldn’t…this isn’t Mayberry.
You’re right Matt, it’s not Mayberry. Mayberry is an ideal, where you don’t need a gun to stop crime. It represents an American ideal before the corruption that was seeded with the hippie movement and LBJ’s – “Great Society”. But like many towns across the US, Brenham used to look and feel much closer to that ideal than not. Many have realized that our Mayberry roots hold the best possible future for us to strive for.
You ever see any blacks, Asians, or Latinos on the Andy Griffith show? How about unwed mothers, or teen mothers? Disabled children or children with cancer? How about black-lung coal miners? Do you think that’s because those folks didn’t exist back then, or because they weren’t considered ‘ideal’?
There have always been people in society that are not considered “ideal” as you put “it”. Unfortunately, it is more prevalent “today.” and at higher levels of “so-called” educated people. At least in “Mayberry” you did not have to be conerned about a corrupt government and a “small town” still had “integrity,”
You know you are right, I love Andy, and I love Barney, and I love Aunt Mae and I love little Opie with all his shenanigans!!!! The Andy Griffith show was one of my all time favorites!!!! They just don’t make em like they used to…….!

It is unfortunate that outside influences can ruin a small town from yesterday to what we have today and what will continue to erode at the rate we are going. Outside influences don’t believe in marriage, don’t believe in honesty, don’t believe in church, don’t believe in transparency. Once this hypocrisy gets rooted in our government and the unacceptable of yesterday is considered the norm and acceptable of today and tomorrow; the hypocrisy become a epidemic and then a pandemic, as these intruders ruin the Norman Rockwell Americana and God Fearing People of Small Town America. The cherry on top is when hypocrites that started the movement yesterday and today; then blame it on everyone else today and tomorrow. Truly a Narcissistic Mentality that has Evolved within these Hypocrites.
