ARSON CASE AT LOCAL HOTEL

  

Brenham police and fire investigators are looking into a strange case of arson, discovered Monday night at the Super Eight Hotel in the 2200 block of Highway 290 east.

Brenham Police officer Stephen Eilert came to the scene at about 8:45pm, when witnesses could smell smoke, and the odor of burning plastic.

When the officer and the firefighters came to the room, they found a partially dressed woman sitting on the bed.  Several items in the room had been burned.  She was putting various electronic items in the room’s microwave oven.   The investigators determined she had intentionally set the items on fire and arrested 50-year old Susan Wilmoth on arson charges.
