Officials from the two colleges met at the Blinn-Brenham Student Center this (Monday) morning to sign the agreement. The partnership outlines courses that will transfer from Blinn to WGU Texas, part of the national Western Governors University.

Blinn graduates, faculty and staff will receive 5 percent discounted tuition at WGU Texas, as well as exclusive partner scholarships valued up to $2,000. They can also select from more than 60 accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in information technology, business, health professions and teaching.

Blinn Chancellor Dr. Mary Hensley said Blinn is proud to partner with WGU Texas to “provide students an affordable pathway to higher education”. She said the transfer agreement is a “perfect example” of how a four-year university and two-year college can partner to create opportunities for students.

He added the enrollment of more than 12,300 is made up of students from 233 of the state’s 254 counties, including those served by Blinn College.

Students transferring from Blinn College can expect a comprehensive transfer policy. For more information, visit www.blinn.edu or http://texas.wgu.edu.
