Brenham Junior High School Principal Bryan Bryant has been dismissed from his position.
Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin informed KWHI that Bryant is no longer serving as principal as of today (Tuesday).
Dr. Chaplin did not elaborate on the reason for the decision, only saying it was "time for a leadership change." District officials say there are no plans to release more information on Bryant’s dismissal at this time.
Dr. Chaplin said the district will identify an interim principal in the next couple of days to serve during the spring semester. The district will begin the process of searching for the next permanent principal after the holiday break.
Bryant was hired in 2014 to serve as the principal at the junior high school after a four-to-three vote by the board of trustees. He had previously served as an assistant principal at College Station Middle School for five years and an assistant principal at Oakwood Intermediate School for two and a half years.
Full statement from Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin below:
As of today we have made a change in leadership at Brenham Junior High School. Mr Bryant will no longer serve as Principal. The district will identify an interim principal in the next few days that will serve as principal during the spring semester. After the holidays we will establish a timeframe to start the process of finding the right person to be the next leader of Brenham JHS. We look forward to the future of Brenham Junior High School.
