BRYAN FACILITY WILL NOT BE USED FOR ILLEGAL CHILDREN

The US Department of Health and Human Services has announced they will not be using former Army Reserve Center in Bryan to house some of the immigrant children that have arrived in Texas.

Bryan city officials say they received word Friday that the building was not large enough or immediately ready to use.

Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski told KBTX-TV 3  that he agrees, saying he didn't believe the building was habitable in its pertinent condition—needing a lot of improvements and repairs.

Bienski went on to say he doesn't believe it's his city's responsibility to handle the immigration issue.

Prior to the federal government's interest in the building last month, Bienski says the City of Bryan was working with the General Services Commission to get the building back in hopes of using it as a possible Senior Recreation Center. Now, that the building isn't being considered, he says the city will work with the agency to transfer the building back.

  1. Here’s an idea on Immigration!
Why doesn’t our Commander in Chief call the Mexican President and other South American leaders and tell them to halt sending their children, gang members, drug cartel thugs and others to our boarders. He has the power that is why he is there.
    He can tell them this:
    1. Stop it or we will halt the shipments of their produce from coming into our country. We will line our boarders with armed troops to insure this happens.
    2. Next stop it or we will end all flights into their countries there by ending their billion dollar tourist trade.
    3. Finally stop it or we will end United States trade in their countries. And as a bonus we will at no charge send them back millions of their illegals (which needs to happen anyway).
Now if this doesn’t send a clear message then I don’t know what will. Obama is the one who can make this happen and the responsibility lies squarely on his shoulders so he should quit trying to put this off on congress. In the end it is his responsibility.
As an incentive instead of trying to get congress to spend 3.7billion for the care of these people have congress set up an investment program to help these countries set up industrial zones in their countries where American companies can go for “low cost” production of their products. Bring manufacturing back to North, Central and South America. Make “Made in America” the new banter. This should help slow the mass fleeing of people from these countries and bolster their economies.
