BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER INCREASING PRE-K TUITION

  

The Burton School Board will consider a potential increase in prekindergarten tuition costs at its meeting Monday.

Members of the Burton School Board meet Monday, March 8th. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom.

The board will vote to potentially increase the cost of Pre-K services from their current cost of $350 per month per student.

Also at Monday’s meeting, trustees will consider several staff contracts, including contracts for teachers, the Burton special services cooperative director, and a diagnostician and speech/language pathologist for the special services cooperative.

The board will also consider a proposal for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Risk Management Fund’s new comprehensive coverage program.  It will also vote on the instructional materials allotment and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) certification for 2021-22.

Trustees will also:

  • Consider approval of Lightspeed as the provider of the district’s internet content filter.
  • Consider a board resolution extending a depository contract for funds.
  • Vote on budget amendments for 2020-21.
  • Hear reports from the superintendent, elementary and high school principals, and athletic director.

  1. Why don’t they discuss allowing children to take off their mask like many other much larger school districts. I think that if it’s mandatory for everyone in the school to wear one Everyone in the picture above should have one on too.
