BUSY WEEKEND FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to a number of calls over the weekend.

Saturday afternoon, the department responded to the 800 block of Wintersong Drive.

Units arrived at the home to find no there and smoke inside the home.  BFD members used force entry and found smoke throughout the house.

They found a pot on the stove smoking, removed the pot and ventilated the home.

Then just after 6:00 p.m., Saturday, they were called to the 700 block of Weldon Trace for a report of a structure fire.

Units arrived and found that someone started a trash pile on fire in front of the house.

BFD members extinguished the pile of trash and returned to service.

Just moments later, the department was dispatched to the 2000 block of FM-389 for a reported structure fire.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the front door of the house, and found a burnt pot on the stove.

Units removed the pot and extinguished the hot spots inside the wall.

Also this weekend, the Fire Department was called to one report of smoke coming from a heating unit, four false alarms and six calls that were cancelled on route.
