CONROE WOMAN KILLED IN TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN GRIMES CO.
A Conroe woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in east Grimes County.
DPS Sergeant Erik Burse reports that shortly after 11:45 a.m., a 2004 Suzuki Verona was traveling eastbound on Highway 30, four miles east of Roans Prairie, behind a 2007 GMC C6500.
According to Sgt. Burse, the Suzuki passed when it was unsafe, as the GMC was making a left turn, leading to the Suzuki overcorrecting and striking a tree.
One of the passengers in the Suzuki, 41-year-old Melissa Joyce McCarty, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Suzuki, 58-year-old Scotty Lee Logue of Conroe, along with two other passengers, 17-year-old Anthony Bridges of Conroe and a two-year-old girl from Richards, were all taken to area hospitals in stable condition.
The driver of the GMC, 44-year-old Jose Reyes of Madisonville, was not injured.
Investigation into the accident continues, and no other information is available at this time.
