FIRST OF TWO EMERGENCY GUNS AND HOSES BLOOD DRIVES TUESDAY IN BRENHAM

A pair of emergency Guns and Hoses blood drives have been scheduled in Brenham, the first of which is set for tomorrow (Tuesday).

Due to the cancellation of numerous scheduled blood drives because of the arctic blast, the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is in great need of blood products and has reached out to the Brenham Fire and Police Departments for immediate emergency help.

The first blood drive will be held tomorrow from noon to 6 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center.  Walk-ins are welcomed.

To sign up online, go to www.commitforlife.org or www.giveblood.org and use sponsor code L126, or call Kelly Hardin at 832-212-2799.

The second drive will take place Saturday, March 6th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., also at the Fireman’s Training Center.  This drive will be handled like any other Guns and Hoses event, with coffee and donuts in the morning and a light lunch starting at 11 a.m., along with juices, soft drinks and water.  Childcare will be provided for donors.

The two emergency blood drives will be followed by the regularly scheduled Guns and Hoses Spring Drive, to be held Saturday, March 27th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center.

Appointments can be scheduled by contacting Rob Aguilar at 979-451-2612.
