HOPE RISING IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS

Hope Rising Ministries hopes to raise awareness to its cause with a summer barbecue this weekend in Washington County.

Hope Rising, an organization that provides safety for victims of sex trafficking, will hold its Volunteer Roundup Summer Barbecue at its facility in the Washington County area from 5 to 9 p.m. this Saturday.  Office Manager and Executive Assistant Susan Blanchard says the event helps people learn how to get involved.

Blanchard says she can’t broadcast the location of the event, due to the nature of the ministry, but interested parties can go online to www.hoperisingministries.org to find out about Saturday’s activities.

Saturday’s barbecue will show appreciation for those already volunteering, and will serve as a demonstration for those who are curious about what Hope Rising does.  Hope Rising opened its first facility in Washington County several years ago, and two more have been added since then.

Blanchard says teaching volunteers are highly requested.
