Fair Manager Dean Fuchs says the auction is being moved from the open barn at the fairgrounds to the indoor sales facility, in between barns two and three.  The auction will still start at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Fuchs says the change is being made for the comfort of the exhibitors, the animals, and the buyers.

Thursday’s forecast calls for an 80 percent chance of rain and potential thunderstorms.  Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Imelda made landfall this (Tuesday) afternoon near Freeport, with sustained winds of 40 mph.  The heaviest rains are expected along the coast and in deep east Texas, but flooding is possible in areas of the Brazos Valley.
