MASONS TO LAY STONES FOR THE BISD SCHOOLS

  

Two years ago Brenham school district voters overwhelmingly approved a $26 million bond issue to renovate the middle school and build a new Alton Elementary School.

This led to a year of planning, designs and meetings about the progress of these projects. Then about a year ago, construction began on the two schools.

Now, the construction is so far along, it is certain that both schools will be ready for the school year that begins in August.  It is also a time to lay the cornerstone for both schools.

At 10:30 Tuesday morning, the Graham Masonic Lodge will lay the cornerstone for the middle school and at 1:30 the cornerstone will be laid for the new Alton Elementary School in the 1300 block of South Market.
