PANTHERS ROLL PAST HEARNE, 54-6

The Burton Panthers blew open their game at Hearne, Friday night, with 26 unanswered points in the third quarter, en route to a 54-6 win over the Eagles.

The game got off to a wild start with Jumon Bradley putting the Panthers on top with a 40-yard midway through the first quarter.

The Eagles tied the game on the next kickoff Cedrion Golden raced 70-yard for the 6-6 tie.

But just seconds later Burton (2-2) answered right back with Luke Huffer’s 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The score remained 14-6 until late in the first half.

On a third-and-20, Huffer hit Louis Brown on quick slant that gained 26 yards and kept the drive alive.  Huffer capped the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run, giving the Panthers a 22-6 halftime lead.

The third quarter was a disaster for the Eagles (0-3), as Burton reached the end zone four times.

Brown scored on a 22-yard run; Huffer picked off a pass and raced 48-yards; Brown recovered a fumble and took it 36-yards; and Huffer scored his fourth touchdown of the night with an 11-yard run.

Brown added one last touchdown in the fourth quarter with an 87-yard sprint—his third touchdown of the night.

Brown led the Panthers with 158 yards on just five carries.  Bradley was the Panthers’ workhorse, with 122 yards on 19 carries.
