A long time staple of Brenham dining is changing hands.
After nearly 40 years, Nathan Winkelmann has sold Buccaneer Food Store and the popular Nathan’s Barbeque on Prairie Lee Street.
What began as a convenience store and gas station in 1980, developed into a barbeque restaurant 10 years ago.
Winkelmann says it was not an overnight decision to sell the local business…
Winkelmann says he will be on hand for the next 60-to-90 days to help insure a smooth transition. He also says that many of the personnel that are currently with the restaurant and store will remain.
Winkelmann says the last 40 year have been truly special…
Winkelmann adds he hopes he did things “the right way”…
Winkelmann also wanted to thank the community for their support and hoped he was successful in giving back to the community.
