POWER RESTORED AFTER OUTAGE FOR ROUGHLY 3,500 BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC MEMBERS EAST OF BRENHAM

  

Update @ 3:55 p.m.: Power has been restored to approximately 3,500 Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members in Washington County after an outage this (Tuesday) afternoon.

According to Bluebonnet Public Affairs Manager Will Holford, the outage was caused by a faulty breaker in the substation that serves about 3,500 members east of Brenham, near Chappell Hill.

The outage was reported around 3 p.m., and lasted for about an hour.

The outage originated in the Bluebonnet substation that serves about 3,500 members east of Brenham, near Chappell Hill.  According to Bluebonnet Public Affairs Manager Will Holford, crews from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) were working in the substation when the outage occurred.

Holford said crews are testing the equipment in the substation to determine the cause of the outage, and are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

  1. Thank you Bluebonnet, for your quick actions. I always know if there is a problem, Bluebonnet Coop will work as hard & quickly as possible to resolve it. How many companies or utilities can you say that about?
