SMALL PROTEST MONDAY NIGHT IN BRENHAM IN GEORGE FLOYD DEATH

A small local protest is set for 5:00 this evening in Brenham, over the death in Minneapolis of Houston-native George Floyd.

Floyd was killed last week—a Minneapolis police officer has been arrested and charged with murder, while three other officers have been fired.  Demonstration—some violent—have taken place throughout the nation.

Brenham Police say they expect tonight’s local protest to be small and peaceful.  The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and will take place on the sidewalk in front of Henderson Park, across from the American Legion building.

Brenham Police Captain Lloyd Powell said local police do not expect a large turnout and will likely not need a large police presence.

  1. Some support is a good sign especially in this backwards town. Special thanks to those showing support. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd

  2. I attended to monitor for Antifa presence…None seen.
Only peaceful protesters. Brenham should be proud and other cities should take
notice – this is how real Americans practice free speech!

  3. Passed by the demonstration around 6pm.. Small, diverse crowd waving placards. Everyone was orderly. WTG Brenham!

  4. Oh dear! I am just now seeing this post and it is almost 5:30 pm Monday. I really wish I had known about it earlier, as I definitely would have dressed and attended this protest! It is happening now and too late for me to be able to make it. God bless all involved. Meli
