Today (Wednesday) marked the first day of service for new police chief Jake Sullivan of Frisco.

Sullivan, who has over 25 years of experience in law enforcement, has served as police chief in Whitney, Fort Stockton, and Celeste.  He most recently served as a relief officer in Paris ISD.

Sullivan fills the position held by previous police chief Craig Wise, who retired in July.  He was selected out of six candidates for the position.

In addition to his previous police chief duties, Sullivan has also worked within the DPS Airport Security Division at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, as a lieutenant for the Whitehouse Police Department, and as a lieutenant for the Dallas County College District.

Retired DPS Lieutenant Otto Arnim served as Somerville’s interim police chief since August 10th, following Wise’s retirement.

  1. Thank goodness…I can stop arming myself when I go to Somerville..The mayor did a great job of running off his entire police force…his end comes in the next election..Meanwhile, the city council if both parties worked together long and hard to get a new police chief…he’s going to have to recruit new cops because mayor Bradford ran those guys off too…..No matter what happens with political blowhards, the police in Somerville should know, at this point, the entire citizenry stands with you. Just remember, the mayor is a figurehead with no really power…moines listening to him neither should the police..There’s a good city manager there…I think you’ll find working with him to be easy

  2. Wow. Good choice. according to your article he has had only seven job positions in twenty-five years. That is a lot of good experience
