WASHINGTON COUNTY RECEIVES 2015 PLATINUM LEADERSHIP AWARD AT COMMISSIONERS MEETING

The Washington County Commissioners, along with the members of the Auditor and Treasurers office were  presented the Texas Comptroller 2015 Platinum Leadership Circle Award earned by Washington County for financial transparency during their Tuesday morning meeting.

This is the third year the County has received this award. The first year, the County earned the Silver award, and last year and again this year,  the County received the Platinum Award. Three years ago was the first the time the County had applied for the award.

The County received a 21 out of 23 rating this year. It was also noted that the reason the last two rating were not earned due to the County not having the needed financial software to search for account payable. Those points will be earned once the software is up and running.

The module is scheduled to be delivered in February, but needed to be ordered now to be delivered by that date. The funds will come their FY 2016 budget.

The Commissioners also approved action on a Formal Notice of a Proposed Buried Utility Line on Bridle Creek Lane for PGMS Central Washington county Water Supply Corporation in Precinct 3 for a buried line and the same for a line on Lille Lange Lane for line repair.

The commissioners appointed Bryan Ruemke for the position of Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator. A grant will support this current full-time position.

The commissioners also approved moving the Tuesday, October 6th commissioners meeting to Monday, October 5th, to allow the commissioners the ability to attend the Annual County Judges and Commissioners Conference in San Marcos.
