TWO BODIES FOUND AFTER EARLY MORNING FIRE IN WASHINGTON CO.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two bodies were discovered following a fire early this (Tuesday) morning east of Brenham.
According to Washington County Sheriff’s Lieutenant David Blakey, deputies were dispatched around 12:30 a.m. to the 400 block of New Years Creek Lane in reference to a structure fire. Other responding units included the Brenham Fire Department, Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department and Washington County EMS.
Upon the arrival of first responders, they found a camper-type trailer fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, they located two unidentified bodies within the remains of the camper trailer.
The identity of the individuals is currently being withheld so that next of kin can be notified.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Investigation is being led by Sergeant Investigators Clay Bosse and Mike McAnally, with assistance from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The bodies will be transported to the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies.
