BRAZOS RIVER CONTINUES TO RISE

  

 

Water levels on the Brazos River are rising more than expected in our area, as rain continues to fall from Hurricane Harvey.

The Brazos River Authority is now predicting that the Brazos River will peak well above flood stage in all areas south of College Station. Near Hempstead, the Brazos was at 35 feet at noon on Sunday, but is expected to exceed the flood stage of 50 feet sometime Monday afternoon. It is projected to peak at almost 52 feet on Tuesday.

In Richmond, the Brazos is expected to hit almost 55 feet Monday afternoon, that’s 10 feet above flood stage. At noon Sunday is was at 29 feet. In Rosharon, the Brazos was expected to reach flood stage of 43 feet sometime Sunday afternoon. At noon Sunday it was at 39 feet. The projected peak near Rosharon is 52 ½ feet by late Monday.
