CAR FIRE ON 290 EAST CALLS OUT FIRE DEPARTMENTS

Both the Brenham and Chappell Hill Fire Departments were dispatched to a car fire with people reportedly trapped inside yesterday (Tuesday) morning at 8:39.

Once Chappell firemen arrived at the scene at 6500 U.S. Highway 290 East near the entrance to the Bluebonnet Hills Subdivision, they reported that no one was trapped.  The Brenham and Chappell Hill Fire Departments extinguished the car, which was fully engulfed in flames.  No injuries were reported, and the car was a total loss.

Earlier Tuesday morning at 6:46, Brenham firemen were called to 4001 Highway 36 South for a fire investigation.  Upon arrival they found a large brush pile burning, but under control.  The owner said he had notified dispatch earlier in the week, but it became too windy to burn that day.  The Brenham Fire Department asks the public to please call on each day they might be burning brush or trash.
