Chandler Jozwiak was perfect Friday afternoon – both on the mound and at the plate as the Cubs rolled past Eastview, 10-0 in game-one of the Bi-district playoffs in Mumford.

Jozwiak retired all 15 Patriot batters in pitching the Cubs’ first perfect game since Jesse Baker in February of 2012.

Jozwiak struck out 11 of the 15 batters he faced as he dominated the Eastview hitters.

Chandler was also perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a walk and ending the game with an rbi-double in the fifth that gave the Cubs their 10-run rule win.

Brenham grabbed the early lead as Jozwiak drove home Darvis Watson with a double.  Hunter Avila and Pierce Weiss followed with run-scoring singles to give the Cubs a 3-0 lead.

That lead held up into the fifth inning, when Brenham erupted for seven runs—six scoring with two outs.

Zach Marshall drove home a run with a sacrifice fly, making the score 4-0.  With two outs a third strike wild pitch brought home two runs.  Connor Klussmann then doubled home two runs, followed by a run-scoring single by Watson then Jozwiak’s game ending double.

Darvis Watson went 2-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

The Cubs can move onto the Area round with a win Saturday, back in Mumford.

Game-two is set to begin at 11:00, with game-three if necessary to follow.

Today’s broadcast begins at 10:30 on the alternate feed on www.kwhi.com, then will be joined in-progress following the Maifest Parade on AM-1280 KWHI.
