BODY OF MISSING WOMAN FOUND
The body of a 52-year old woman who had been missing since Sunday, was found this (Thursday) morning just before 9am in the back portion of her property in the 5200 block of FM 390 near Highway 105. Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak said ‘human remains canine unit’ dogs found the deceased body of Glenda Gayle Taylor Somerfield after the search for her resumed this(Thursday) morning.
Hanak said no foul play is suspected and an autopsy will determine the cause of death.
Sheriff Hanak said the heavy rains Tuesday suspended the search both Tuesday and Wednesday. Hanak says the search was enhanced and focused on the property.
The sheriff said his deputies along with troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a canine unit from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice , and a DPS helicopter searched for Somerfield throughout Sunday night and early Monday morning before the search was suspended.
I am glad that her remains were quickly found to give closure to family and friends. Many thanks to the dog and his dog-handler for their generous contribution of their time and energy to help find this woman.
