COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS BURN BAN POSSIBILITY AT NEXT MEETING

The possibility of instituting a burn ban in Washington County will be one of the topics on next week’s Washington County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.

Washington County is the only county in the Brazos Valley that has so far not instituted a burn ban due to the lack of rain since June.

Also on the agenda is the discussion is the approval to advertise for a Request for Qualifications for a professional architect to prepare an Historic Courthouse Plan.

According to County Judge John Brieden, there are plans to restore the outside of the Washington County Courthouse, and in order to receive funds for the project, planned for the exterior only, a plan has to be drawn up and submitted.

There will also be a discussion of an Interlocal Agreement between Brazos Valley Council of Government and Washington County for E9-11 Database Maintenance Services, and E911 Public Safety Answering Point Services.

The commissioners will meet at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.
