COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS ENHANCED EMS FOR CHAPPELL HILL
Enhanced EMS services for the Chappell Hill area is on the agenda for Tuesday's meeting of the Washington County Commissioners’ Court.
Last year, EMS expanded service to Burton for an advanced paramedic program and hopes to have that same service in place later this year in Chappell Hill.
Back in December the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative presented the county with a $26,500 grant that will be used for a vehicle to be used in that program.
County Judge John Brieden says the enhanced paramedic program is going to benefit the citizens in the eastern part of the county.
A paramedic will be located in that area, who will be able to reach emergencies in advance of an ambulance which Brieden says could be the difference between life and death.
Tuesday, the commissioners are expected to approve an agreement between the county and the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce for the “comprehensive exchange of services”.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners are expected to reappoint two member to the Tax Phase-In Compliance Review Committee; approve a bid for renovations to the County Jail’s booking, picket and interview areas; and grant the county auditor authority to audit the fiscal 2015 Asset Forfeiture Report.
The County Commissioners meet Tuesday at 9:00 at the Washington County Courthouse.
