BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL HAS POSTPONED “ENVISION 2020” PUBLIC HEARING

On the agenda for this afternoon’s Brenham City Council meeting was the discussion of redefining two tracts of land in regards to the City of Brenham’s “Envision 2020” comprehensive future land map. The two tracts of land would be used to build an apartment complex and retail space on the North side of Old Mill Creek road. Once reaching those agenda items, Development Services Manager, Erik Smith, announced that the applicants had requested to postpone the public hearing of those 10 related items until a further date.

The Council approved the postponement and a future date of this public hearing is not yet known.

The Council authorized a final payment of $113,026.73 to Mercer Construction Company for the 2015 Water Distribution System Improvements as well as authorized minor changes to Chapter 6-62 of the code of ordinances so that lead limitation is consistent with federal and state statutes. This amendment reduces the lead content of pipes, and plumbing fixtures from 8% to .25%.

City Council approved the purchase of two remote tire deflation devices for the police department using seized narcotic funds, a two percent mid-year employee pay scale adjustment, and the retail development guidelines for the City of Brenham.

Brenham City Council will meet again on April 7th at 10:00am.
